Hello Prospective Clients!
I am new to this site; if you find I have omitted any useful information or if you have additional questions for me, I encourage you to contact me via the email listed in my profile. I would appreciate the opportunity to provide whatever information you might need.
Beginning with my voice quality itself: My regular speaking tone is definitely an alto range, not rough, but just short of husky. However, I have great tonal range and can adjust tone accordingly, if desired and as appropriate. As a life-long singer, I have had on-going professional vocal training and use many of those learned singing techniques to change or enhance vocal tone and clarity in public speaking and acting.
I have been a public speaker and performer all my life and have very diverse experiences in public speaking/performance, having done everything from regular local radio and TV spots as a teenager to graduating from law school where HOW you speak is often as important as what you say. Any lack of confidence I might have had prior to law school was erased as a requirement of survival: no one need sell themselves more than attorneys, to both earn and then win for clients. At the very, very least, you need to convince people you ARE confident, even when you aren't. Excellent speaking skills are critical to legal success.
I'd be happy to provide more details about my work experience, and will absolutely do so upon request. I hope I've provided enough information here to assure you that I am intelligent, articulate, and well-tested!
Finally, it's my personal opinion that whether broadcast via web, radio, or television, "personability" of the speaker is key. We can all tell when someone is faking; if we don't like the speaker, we stop listening. It's also my experience that "truly genuine" is a very difficult commodity to find. So, aside from my vocal upload, how will you tell if I'm at all "personable?" I think my work priorities may help a bit:
My first priority is to make my clients happy, no matter what it takes. I work hard to earn my pay and your repeat business!
My second priority is to have fun with my work! Those listening or watching can tell if I like what I'm doing, and that catches and keeps attention. In my experience, from radio commercials to lawyering, if you're enjoying your work, it precludes any need to find or seem "personable" - it's just naturally there.
