Experience
When fans recognize Greg Travis, it could be from roles as diverse as Andy Warhol, tough cops, demented bad men, lounge lizards, or avant-garde cult comedians. The highly rated, consistently working actor (who’s appeared in some 40 feature films and racked up at least that many TV and stage credits) has a chameleon-like ability to inhabit characters that are polar opposites to each other and to the easy-going, generous, and consummate professional he is.

Travis started performing as a magician at the age of 12 in his native Dallas, Texas. His natural talents and acute instincts brought him to Hollywood where he quickly became successful as a stand up comedian. Signed by the William Morris agency at age 20, Travis appeared on every major talk show and quickly amassed a following when he created and portrayed “David Sleaze, the Punk Magician”, who became a worldwide sensation and appeared on “Saturday Night Live”, “Evening at the Improv”, “Rodney Dangerfield’s HBO Special”. He’s toured with mega-celebrities Cher and headlined at every top comedy club in the country. (Comedian Sarah Silverman quotes Travis in her Favorite Dirty Jokes).
In the mid nineties Travis transitioned from comedian to full time actor with stand out roles in “Lost Highway”, “Shakes the Clown” & “Man on the Moon”.
He is also a talented filmmaker and over the years has directed over twenty five shorts and three feature films.
