Ann Mayo Graf
Playing the female lead in Guys And Dolls, playing a duet in a class on my nyckleharpa with the brilliant Martin Hayes in Ireland and spending 27 years in a trio singing harmony and fashioning our music to fit the songs all added to the list of events that formed the highlights of my years with my two husbands , two children and two grandchildren being the crowning glory to life thus far...
Acting and touring giving hundreds of concerts, and recording over a period of 45 years has been the most important part in preparing me to do voice overs and to really enjoy such work.

I Made my first professional recording as a guest on Hootenanny With The Highwaymen in early 60s. They had just had a major success with their recording of "Michael, Row The Boat Ashore".
I followed that with a solo recording" Magic of Mayo Muir" placed with 20th Century Fox.
I spent 40 years touring as a folksinger and musician singing with Gordon Bok for 13 years before Ed Trickett joined us, magically transforming us into a trio. A number of our concerts were live broadcasts on radio. We enjoyed both the friendships and the music, recording 12 albums together. The Washington Post said this about us in 1984 "As on their three previous albums, Bok, Muir and Trickett have produced a softly focused masterpiece of folk grace.
Before that period began, I joined a community theater group and acted in musicals. I had some leads such as as Adelaide in "Guys and Dolls". I was also the female lead in " The Apartment". I adored acting and always will. All The world 's a stage...etc.
My Father unfortunately became deaf from the gun blasts on board the transport ship where he was chief surgeon during world war two. As a result I had to learn to speak up for him to hear me. This is good training for someone wishing to be on stage. I would have to say that most all my experience comes from life and hard work.
I Married at age 19 after one year at a Junior College called Penn Hall in Pennsylvania.
I spent 40 years touring and giving folk concerts. I am mostly a self taught musician but I have studied Harp at the Hart College of Music and violin with Alasdair Fraser and Martin Hayes. I have raised two wonderful children and I have been given twin grandsons now 17 yrs. old. Education is what life offers. I have been given much and I like to give back every day.
I earned one award this year:

This depends on what is requested. Perhaps it could take a day or two or maybe a week.
I performed the wonderful speaking part that was written to accompany Saint-Saens "Carnival of the Animals". I did this with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. When was asked to instruct the children about acceptable ways to behave during the concert, I decided I needed a way to gain authority as soon as I entered and took the stage. To achieve this I wore my son's red graduation gown with a top hat and in my hand I carried a bull whip. I entered from the back of the main aisle riding my unicycle and wearing this costume . Mission was Accomplished. I believe the bull whip was convincing.
