About Will Kelly
Overview
Genuineness and authenticity are the most accurate words to describe any read by Will Kelly. He approaches voiceover and copy with a personal investment regardless of its genre. A desire to be true to the material, and convincing and natural to the listener, is always present.
Will Kelly began his career in the entertainment business working for Giaronomo Productions in New York, a movie trailer and tv spot production company. His work as a voiceover artist began as a scratch narrator and over dubbing lines for trailers and tv spots, after colleagues complimented his voice and cadence.
After some years, Will followed a call to hospitality, pursuing a lifelong passion for making people happy, and a love of great food - he opened a restaurant. Though fortunate to find success, he realized he missed the performative aspect of voiceover - using intonation and delivery to make a person feel a certain way, whether that be excited, curious, intrigued, happy, relaxed, energized, persuaded, confident, content, or any of a whole range of sentiments.
More than anything, Will loves making people happy. Working with clients to perfect a project and get the desired result is a passion. Complementing this ethic is Will's broad range: rich, controlled, whimsical, fun, quirky, energetic, serious, warm and comforting, smarmy, cocky and self assured. He can sound professional, corporate, like the guy next door, as well as carry authority or gravitas. His voice has been described as friendly, conversational, upbeat, trustworthy, believable, natural and informative. Aloof, passive detachment, earnestness, urgency, restrained and resolute are equal measures of Will's range.
His style is well suited to a variety of genres and approaches - educational, medical and explainer videos; financial, banking and corporate institutions; believable and conversational commercials; big, authoritative and over the top spots that carry gravity and weight; urgent, forceful and aggressive; and can present a light hearted easygoingness that feels personal and familiar. Certain projects are sarcastic or comedic, and Will loves to temper his style to dry, wry and witty, and enjoys both deadpan and over the top humor.
He has voiced overdub lines in trailers and tv spots, radio commercials, promos, telephone applications and a documentary film.
