  1. Thanks Brian 🙂
To all: If you are reading this and know someone who likely isn’t (i.e. they don’t subscribe to VOX Daily), point them to this post by sharing this link via email.
    Thank you kindly,

  2. Hi Stephanie,
Thanks for bringing this up. Now that you mention it, I haven’t received a single audition/job notification since the change. I believe everything is and has been filled out correctly on my profile, etc. When I have time, I’ve been visiting the job listing and attempting to audition that way.
However, I have been having a problem with my demos. The demos on my web page play fine so they’ve been uploaded and tagged properly and when I upload a custom demo from my off site files it seems to be working. But when I attempt to use a demo from my web page on the on voices.com site to answer a lead or whenever my name is searched, the demo that actually plays is not the one listed. Even though it shows the name of my demo with my logo and tags, it plays a male voice! It is a male voice in a different language that sounds like a character spot and it plays each and every time no matter what demo is uploaded, clicked on from the side listing of “other demos” on my web page or shows up in the search results. For those that have slipped through or been presented to clients upon searching, I’m sure they’re wondering who I am….??
I was contacted by another female voice talent who had the same thing happening to her, and it sounded like everything was linking to the same male voice demo. Other female voice talent might want to test that their site demos are linking and uploading to auditions correctly, too, and if not, take alternative measures when adding a demo to the auditions.
Again, the demos on my web page seem to play correctly on the demos page, it seems to be a problem when linking from any list or search. I’ve notified “help” several times, so I’m sure someone is working on it, although I haven’t received a confirmation that the concern has been received. An ETA on a fix or notification of when it is fixed would be appreciated so that I’ll know it’s all right to use those demos again.
Best to all in working through this!

  3. My thanks for the reminder. I haven’t been getting the job notices, though, even after all of the items in my profile had been updated. I’m starting to feel like a red-headed step child!
Any ideas? Perhaps changing email addresses?

  4. Hmmm… I’ve got all the fields you mention filled in, but am still not getting notices.
Also, I seem to have to log in fairly frequently (several times per day).
    Maybe these are related?

  5. Hi Melanie,
Thank you for your comment. We are aware of that issue and are working on its resolution. One voice actress has contacted many members and is causing a lot of upset as a result but we are aware of the issue and are happy to provide an explanation to members who contact us about it.
Many members had their audio replaced by other audio because of similar file names. Our server got them mixed up which meant members had to re-upload their audio with a unique file name to avoid future issues. Unfortunately when some members conduct name searches for themselves the audio that plays in the result summary is not necessarily their own. The issue is that these audio files have not been refreshed and are not playing the updated audio files.
Be assured that our developers are working on this.
To confirm at present, areas of the site that still need the audio files to be updated are the search results and the Top 100 listings. As long as the demos in your actual account are yours eventually everything will be updated to play the correct files.
When clients visit your profile or demo page to listen to your voice, the demos featured are indeed reflecting your correct audio files.
    Best wishes,

  6. Hi all,
Job notifications are working for many people. We have a couple of test accounts here (1 male and 1 female account) and both are receiving notifications for jobs.
If you have updated your profile with the tips suggested above, that’s fantastic, but if you haven’t added no-reply@voices.com to your email white list (allowing our emails to get to you without being potentially filtered or discarded as spam) it could all be in vain.
Also if you are making any changes to your preferences or profile, be sure to save them! If you are making changes to your budget preferences, click “Submit” or the selections you have made will not be saved.
BE SURE THAT YOU’VE DONE THIS!!!! We’re finding that it is an email issue with service providers and spam settings, not due to any error on our part.
    Thank you,

  7. Hey Stephanie,
Thanks for the update! AND auditions have just started coming in since my post – so the switch must have been turned ON!
I know you’re all scrambling as fast as you can….the updates are helpful and encouraging!

  8. Hi Steph,
    I’ve just noticed another bug.
On my page my primary demo is correct, but when I click on the links to the other demos per genre, the demos that appear are mine but seem random, I click on cartoons and I get the narration demo, I click on narrations and I get the commercial demo etc…sometimes there are even 2 demos instead of the one related.
Also, the titles of the demo do not appear so the seekers don’t know which language nor which type of demo it is until they actually play it.
Could we have on the main page the link to the extra demos with the actual title of the demo instead of generic genre? This would allow seekers to know before clicking several times if it’s the language they are looking for. And obviously also make sure it links to the correct demo.
Thanks a lot for everything! Sorry I’m adding one more bug to the list.

  9. Hi Claire,
Thank you for writing in and letting me know about your findings. We are aware of this and I believe what you are seeing is related to the issue regarding demos being cached.
It’s pulling up the wrong audio. The links go to the right place but the audio file presented is wrong. We’re working on resolving this and will be keeping you all updated here on the blog.
    Thank you,

  10. Stephanie, my account is current, general info and preferences appear correct, I have no spam filtering running anywhere, and I’m not getting job postings since the site change. Could we get a nightly test e-mail from no-reply@voices.com for troubleshooting purposes, until this all settles down? My ISP can find no trace of any incoming e-mail from that address, and troubleshooting is at a standstill until we can narrow a few things down. Thanks!

  11. Hi Paul,
Thank you for your comments. I checked your account and am unsure why you wouldn’t be receiving the emails from no-reply@voices.com .
If you are still having difficulty tomorrow by noon eastern standard time and you can see newly approved jobs that you were not notified of, please contact our support team so that one of the Voices.com team members can take a closer look for you.
In the meantime, I suggest logging in a few times a day to check for opportunities. As mentioned before, the receipt of emails from our site is related directly to your email program or email service provider.
    Thank you,
