In a video posted to the “I Know That Voice” documentary fan page on Facebook executive producer John DiMaggio announced the winners of their Cartoon Voice Imitation Contest.
DiMaggio posted a rather unassuming video earlier this month to announce the winners in which he seems to have momentarily forgotten what the lucky winners will receive. Not to worry. John DiMaggio’s charismatic ways only add a trademark bit of fun to the announcement.
Out of thousands of entries, the top 3 submissions were handpicked by DiMaggio and the “I Know that Voice” team. The winners receive an autographed poster signed by some of the star cast members and an “I Know That Voice” DVD autographed by John DiMaggio himself, the Emmy-nominated voice actor of renowned cartoon characters such as “Bender” from Futurama.

The much anticipated “I Know That Voice” documentary brings together some of the top voice actors from past and present to discuss the rise of the voice-over industry. The documentary was the brainchild of Executive Producer John DiMaggio, Producer Tommy Reid, and Co-Producer Lawrence Shapiro who have said it was “a true labor of love.” It took them two years to make as they collected extensive interviews and compiled never-before-seen footage making “I Know That Voice” truly one-of-a-kind in its subject matter.
The documentary is expected to be released this Fall. A date has yet to be confirmed.
