Do you want a Mixer to come to your city?
We’re excited to announce a number of cities we are planning events in throughout the course of 2010. Find out where we’ll be next as well as which cities will play host this year!

Bringing the Voice Over Community Together

September 3rd 2009 marked the very first Mixer in Los Angeles and since then, we’ve committed to visiting one host city per month to bring the local voice over community together for evenings of fun, networking, answering your questions and more!
Other cities that have played host to mixers thus far are Toronto (twice) and Dallas.
Will yours be next?

Start Spreading the News…

On the evening of Saturday March 27th, 2010 there will be a Mixer in New York City! You’ll receive an invitation to the mixer in the near future that includes more details. For now, I can share that the mixer will be in Manhattan and we’re excited to welcome both local talent and industry professionals as well as those of you who may want to drive into the city or fly in from neighboring states and or Canadian provinces.

๏ Atlanta, Georgia
๏ Chicago, Illinois
๏ London, Ontario
๏ Los Angeles, California

Any Thoughts?

The dates for future mixers aside from NYC have not yet been finalized but there will be more information in the near future so that you can plan ahead.
Also, there a number of surprises in store for host cities going forward in April that I’ll detail in later postings!
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

  1. Hi Peter,
Thank you for commenting and for your question!
The mixers are free to attend and we try our best to secure venues that don’t have any cover charges. Costs for you personally may include transportation, food and drink.
I hope that answers your question and I look forward to seeing you in NYC!

  2. New York sounds great Stephanie. I also love the job you do with Voice Coaches so maybe Schenectady would work. Hope I can see you in NYC.
Love and courage. May His wisdom be an ever present help for you.

  3. Hi Stephanie,
I was thinking about two of the most important cities in Florida: Miami and Orlando. What do you think?
    Greetings from Puerto Rico,
    Pablo Hernandez

  4. Hi Stephanie and Vox volks!
As I’m in the Washington Puget Sound area, I’d be absolutely THRILLED to see you in Vancouver, B.C.
As an f.y.i. for this event, the city typically hosts an international fireworks festival @ the end of July. For many years my husband and I have spent our anniversary weekend (July 28th) in Vancouver and toasted our special day with this incredible evening extravaganza. We stay at the Blue Horizon on Robson – no need for a car as you’re in walking distance from Stanley Park where the festival is held, and of course your choice of many, many awesome places to dine or enjoy good jazz . . .
    All the best!

  5. Hi everyone!
Thank you for your comments and location suggestions! This is just a start of course and we’re looking forward to planning ahead for 2011 too.
@Linda @Carole: Washington, D.C. would be very nice. Perhaps in 2011!
@Kevin: Wonderful! See you in Chicago 🙂
@Julie: We simply love NY and welcome all opportunities to visit. God bless 🙂
@Jenn: Denver is one of our top choices down the road. Thanks!
@Trish @Diane @Karen @Brian: Atlanta is going to rock! Karen, I may take you up on your offer for some insight and assistance. Thank you very much 🙂
@Dan: Philadelphia sounds good. We’ll see what we can do!
@Pablo: Florida is definitely a state we have been talking about. Thoughts on that are perhaps Fort Lauderdale or Orlando. Open to Miami of course, but we’ll see what we can map out!
@Claire-anne: Thank you for the suggestion and also for saying you’d make the trip to Vancouver! I appreciate it 🙂 We’ll have to make sure you Americans get some Timmy’s while you are here.
@Henry @John: See you in NYC! Thank you for the RSVP 🙂
    Best wishes,

  6. Hi John,
I am glad that you like what we are doing.
The mixers have been wonderful events where we can serve others. Although not a new idea (bringing people together), we wanted to put our own spin on what it means to us and our community and use the opportunities presented to answer any questions you might have and bring people together around the common bond of voice over and their memberships at
Going out into the world and meeting our customers where they are is very enjoyable for us. Thank you for your support!
    Best wishes,

  7. Stephanie, this sounds great. If you make it to London I will definitely re-new my membership 🙂 I’d love to have a chance to meet you.
You might also consider coming along to VOX 2010 in May – held in Warwickshire this year.
    Best wishes

  8. I didn’t realize there were so many members who were also in the Atlanta area.
Stephanie, I’d be glad to assist with the Atlanta mixer. I already have a networking group in place to help get the word out. “Viva VO Atlanta!” on and Facebook. We have around 30+ members combined between the two.
Please let me know when you have a date in mind and I’ll help spread the word.
I’m planning a 2nd annual dinner event through the ATL group Labor Day weekend during Dragon*Con with some “special guests”, so I hope that’s nowhere near any target date you had for the Atlanta mixer.

  9. Hi Craig,
Thanks for volunteering to be of some assistance in Atlanta! I really appreciate the hospitality and generosity that has been poured out of all the host cities we’ve visited and Atlanta is no exception.
Thank you for letting me know about your event and when it is. The event will take place likely in the spring or early summer. I’m still ironing out the exact date but know that we’re really looking forward to coming!
We’ll be sure to keep in touch.
    Best wishes,

  10. You should do one in Philadelphia. It’s a great city for VO work. There are a number of excellent studios and casting directors that I’m sure would like to participate, not to mention the very active community of professional actors.

  11. Hi Hilary,
Thank you for commenting and I hope all is well with you. I think we’ll be visiting Denver in 2011 🙂
    Best wishes,
