Lighthouse by the Sea
This week has been very good from the buzz I’ve been hearing around the VO world, and let me tell you, I couldn’t be more excited to find out what you’ve all been up to!
I did a little running around myself on Friday, picking up Voicey awards and shipping the first round of them out at Canada Post to a number of winners. The Voiceys are dazzling and I can’t wait until each reaches its owner over the course of the summer 🙂
What did you do in your voice over business this past week?
Let me know by leaving a comment on this article 🙂

Do you ever get the Hallelujah Chorus ringing in your ears when something you’ve been working at for a long time finally comes full circle? That’s how it felt when shipping awards for me and I sincerely hope you experienced something exciting and fulfilling recently too. Next to the iPhone, the Voiceys are the most beautiful objects I’ve laid eyes on in a long time, mainly because I’m brimming with joy and am so proud to be part of this celebratory aspect of our industry.

One of the awards due south belongs to Pat Fraley, the Lifetime Achievement Voicey award winner for 2008. I’ll be seeing Pat in a few weeks at his workshop in Buffalo, NY and maybe I’ll be seeing you there, too! If you haven’t heard about the class, I’m going to talk a bit about it this week on VOX Daily so stay tuned.

Did anything beautiful happen in your business last week?

Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best wishes,

  1. Thanks to, I landed a great gig for Armed Forces Radio. The phone patch session went great and it was all done through SurePay. Yay,!
waitaminute. We actually get awards for our Voiceys??

  2. Hi Stephanie!
I’ve had an exciting and challenging month. Either today or tomorrow, I’ll wrap up production on my first audio book, “Wind in the Ashes” by William W. Johnstone. Late last week, I received word that 8D World had selected me to do several voices for an online video game. Many thanks to you and everyone at – couldn’t have done this without you!

  3. Hi Stephanie…you have been busy!
I was once again extremely thankful to be able to serve our troops in the Middle East by providing imaging for a radio program on the Armed Forces Network, Freedom Radio’s show called The Barista Blend. My brother finished his two tours there, however he elected to go to work for a contractor in Iraq full-time, as well as continue serving in the military one weekend a month and 2 weeks per year…so he should be able to tune in!!
Other notables were XM Satellite, three commercials for a marketing firm, audio production for Rick’s Furniture in TX and a few more.
Hope your week turns out well and thanks for all you do on behalf of voice talent worldwide!!

  4. Hi Stephanie – Had a fun, new gig this week… doing “humanize the web” spot where I “greet” people online who visit (this is normally a Wilford Brimley thing) a diabetes website. Unlike VOs, there is more pressure as you have to get the entire 60 seconds right AND act/move appropriately on screen or completely do the spot over.
Hope you are having a great week so far.

  5. For the past month I’ve been recovering from a bicycling accident that left me with a broken left clavicle and right wrist. As a full time musician and voice actor, I initially saw my dreams as a bass player especially go up in smoke. For the first couple of weeks, I couldn’t even use the computer mouse! I’ve since recruited a fill in for the band and now can continue with the voice overs, however so gingerly. I hired a driver to take me to dSonic studios in Massachusetts yesterday and once again worked with the wonderful director Kemal Amarasingham, putting the finishing touches on several characters for some highly anticipated Wii and PSP releases.
    There is hope 🙂

  7. Hi Stephanie,
I just got a great job (gig) through I was hired to do a John McCain impersonation (on 7/25). It’s all over the internet and You Tube as well as other news sites. It’s gotten nearly 14,000 airs in just a few days.
    You can see/hear it at

  8. Hi everyone,
Thank you for your comments and for sharing more about your work 🙂
@Ed I hope you are feeling better. It sounds like you are getting along famously and have found ways to keep up with your work after your accident. Soon enough you’ll be all healed up! Take care.
