I am a pediatrician & child psychiatrist who has a start-up called Session (www.hellosession.com), a way to improve your mental health by talking to others in your situation. It's like Alcoholics Anonymous but for all the other things in your life.

Background
Have you ever been struggling with something and tried Googling it? Did it cross your mind that there were others out there also searching for solutions to their "sucky self esteem" or "relationship with donuts?"

We all struggle.

When we do, we "go it" alone. Why? because the people we know aren't necessarily the people who understand. This isolation is part of the reason 50% of us go on to suffer a mental health condition at some point in our lives.

How would we even go about finding others who understand our situation? Put a sign on our forehead or Facebook “Attention everyone, I’m Jane and I struggle with my body image. Let the world know if your struggling with yours too?”

Imagine if you could click a button and connect anonymously with a group of people who were also dealing with whatever you were and get on the phone to have a doctor-designed-discussion -- where even your voice was changed so no matter how stigmatizing the topic, you could speak freely.
