Job #472535
Samuel Macaluso acted in a very shady way and I'd recommend all performers to be very cautious before working with or for him. I submitted for another project and he liked my read and wanted to hire me for the job (at a slightly lower price than the job advertised). I agreed. He then created a separate job with the updated price and script from the one I submitted to, awarding me the job but not uploading an agreement though we'd agreed to a particular amount via messaging about the first project. I completed the project with the edits he asked for and then he just stops responding. I message him a few times over the course of a few weeks, then reach out via email, and then after no response I find his number and give him a call explaining who I am and that I'm waiting for him to release payment. He tells me the company has decided not to go forward the project I already urned my work in for, and as I'm saying that has nothing to do with me as I completed my end of the bargain, he ends the call abruptly. I reach out to the Voices team and at first they were not able to help me because he hadn't uploaded a talent agreement (though I'd been awarded the job). Thankfully, I kept pressing it and another Voices team member was able to help me get paid for my labor. Samuel has not apologized or reached out since abruptly ending the call with me. I will never work with him or this company again and recommend artists beware.
