Voices Unveils New Headquarters

London, ON | January 24, 2017

The world’s largest voice-over marketplace, Voices, unveiled to the public and the local business community their new global headquarters in the city of London, Ontario on January 19, 2017.

Voices serves clients in over 130 countries in the world, connecting creative professionals and brands with a global network of more than 200,000 voice actors.

The company has experienced accelerated rates of growth over the past few years, with a five-year growth rate of 798%, as recently reported by PROFIT Guide and Canadian Business. They are also listed as the fastest-growing company in London. As a result of such growth, the Voices team exceeded the company’s space at 150 Dufferin Avenue – an office they’d been in since 2011. The entire team of over 100 employees moved to 100 Dundas Street, London Ontario, in October, and settled in ahead of today’s official unveiling.

Taking over the entire 7th floor of the building, the space is over two and a half times the size of the corporate footprint Voices had previously. At 45,000 total square feet – an acre of space – the new location will allow the entire tech company to reside on one open floor. A floorplate of this size is unique in the downtown core, but was critical to the company’s plans of keeping all employees together to maintain a unique, and award-winning corporate culture.

“Farhi Holdings is very pleased to have been able to provide a much-needed new home for Voices at 100 Dundas Street,” Shmuel Farhi of Farhi Holdings Corporation says. “To have such a dynamic, Canadian-based – yet internationally successful – company in this local architectural landmark bodes well for everyone involved. Keeping 100 workers in the area also benefits the downtown landscape and its core businesses.”

In a span of just 5 months, the new space was demolished and renovated with furnishings, technology, and design concepts influenced by west coast tech startup spaces. New Herman Miller furniture, state-of-the-art visitor technology, audio equipment, custom artwork, industry term-themed meeting spaces, an art gallery showcasing a journey through recorded sound in the 20th century, and a kitchen-cafe that can accommodate nearly 300 hundred people are all features of the innovative space.

Special-use areas include The Forum, which is for large presentations, and The Plaza, which allows for company-wide meetings, such as the Daily Huddle and monthly Rally. These spaces will also be made available as a local event space option.

“This renovation and move has been a massive undertaking, and has had a positive impact on the city of London,” says Voices CEO and co-owner, David Ciccarelli, who founded the company in 2004 with his wife, Stephanie Ciccarelli. “Such a project has been a dream of ours for years. To see it come together, and so quickly, with the help of Farhi Holdings, IN Design Associates Inc., Enright Construction Limited, Facility Resources, Herman Miller, and our various other partners, means that we can maintain the momentum of growth within our company, the city, and the industry.”

The official office reveal and open house is underway today, with morning remarks from City of London Mayor Matt Brown, Marilyn Sinclair of TechAlliance, and Shmuel Farhi.
