Description

This was an audition for a potential client that asked for something akin to the beginning of the movie "Up": Old-timey radio announcer with a comedic bent.

Beginning with my usual slate, I read the script as directed. Then I filtered the vocal through a series of effects (narrow bandwidth EQ, slight distortion, vintage mono speaker simulation, crackles and pops, etc.) and added royalty-free stock audio reminiscent of the 1940's.

Final delivery, however, will always be two files: My production as well as the dry, unprocessed vocal.

The "Kleenzall Soap Products" advertisement at the end was an ad-lib (not requested by the client), but it seemed amusing enough to earn me a thumbs-up in the audition process.
