What does it mean to be a Texan? It's about more than a pair of boots and a cowboy hat. It's something down deep in your soul. It's about history. An honest day leaves no effort spared. Leaves it all in the feet. Leads all dirt, leaves it all in the mud. Piece it all. I didn't come here because I thought it would be easy. I came because it's different. Nothing like it anywhere. If you live here, you get it. Now we're in the middle of some tough times. Oil prices down, federal government trying to lock up our lands, people outside trying to run our state. But all this fighting and complaining isn't gonna solve a damn place. It was the land itself first roomy in my head. Open expanse unfurl from the doorstep of the Rockies. Rugged, raw, far reaching with views. Well, they're the kind that can be put into words. Today's times America can be a Zhar da's an Arizona bedrock. Seems just about the time you get your well dug. Here comes an epic drought leaves you parched and dry
