At the launch of the campaign, 41 million people in the United States were uninsured, exposing themselves and their families to significant financial risks in cases of medical issues, accidents and emergencies. The Affordable Care Act was passed to help address these issues by providing new coverage options such as free doctors' visits, emergency visits and maternity care. Millions of the un and under insured will qualify for financial assistance. Research indicates that 80% of the un and underinsured are unaware of their new options. There is significant need to raise awareness, and help people get more information about their new options that are available. In order to do this, the Ad Council has partnered with Enroll America, a non-profit, non-partisan organization, to create a multimedia public service announcement to help maximize the number of Americans who enroll for the coverage offered by the ACA.
