Now that the move to cloud services is well under way, companies are starting to see significant payoffs. The cloud is making their business more agile, competitive and cost-effective.

No wonder that IT and business leaders plan to increase the number of workloads deployed to public and hybrid clouds in the months ahead. It’s what their peers are doing. That’s according to a new survey by IDG Research.

Still, respondents say they face serious deployment challenges, such as meeting compliance and security requirements, application performance concerns, and a lack of in-house expertise.

What additional services do they want to see their cloud providers offer? Monitoring, migration, compliance management, planning and strategy, and education and training head the list.

But here’s the problem. Fewer than one-third of respondents say their current cloud providers offer these services.

The good news: 81% of respondents said that the availability of comprehensive services, certifications and expertise from a single cloud provider would increase their likelihood of remaining loyal to that provider.

Today, VMware’s vCloud Air Network Program enables Service Providers to leverage vCloud Air as their core infrastructure—and offer more managed services in the process. VMware Managed Services Providers can offer additional cloud services and develop new markets without investment in data center capacity.
