Well, good morning out there. It's to 22 in the case. All 20 fire in newsroom. I'm name McComb on top local stories. KSL is following this hour. A man was booked in jail for felony stalking after his estranged wife found out he had access to security cameras inside her home. The woman thought that there were only four cameras inside the house and that they'd been deactivated years ago. We responded back up to the house along with the installer, and were ableto determined that there are there were still seven cameras and said the residents that were accessible remotely through a computer smartphone device or something like that. Now Pleasant Grove Police Captain Mike Roberts says the husband had additional cameras installed to the home when the family was away on vacation before the couple was actually separated. Now picking the right victim is an important part of succeeding at a life of crime. A Salt Lake City police sergeant, Robin Hyden, says it would be extortionists failed to understand that lesson. He dropped a letter in a man's mailbox back in March, demanding $10,000 to prevent the release of damaging information and the man was a little perplexed. We knew it was some sort of a scam, so he gave us a call and officers were actually able to meet up with this guy and take him into custody. Now That happened Monday when police say 25 year old Kenny McLelland showed up with South Jordan Recreation Center to pick up a bag supposedly containing the 10 grand. McLelland is now held on suspicion of felony extortion. Other local stories we're following this hour. A former Grand County sheriff's deputy will serve a suspended sentence for sold after finding his wife and his father in bed together. Timothy Brewer pleaded guilty in Moab today. Other national stories KSL is following. Well, there was some sleepy California's today after they were woken by a new Amber Alert system. Overnight, the system sets off an alarm in smartphones within the state. More from a B C's Alec Stone in Los Angeles. On Twitter, some Californians described it sounding like a fire alarm or a siren in the middle of the night, jarring them awake. This woman lives in San Francisco was so sleepy I looked over and as an amber alert and I was like? Well, like who sent this to me? Because I honestly I don't remember signing up for any of these alerts. The Twitter page of the California Highway Patrol was overrun by angry messages of CHP. Put up a link to the federal government page about the Amber Alert feature. Some online say they are disabling the feature in their phone settings. Alec Stone, ABC News Los Angeles, on the government of Yemen is criticizing the decisions by the U. S and British governments to evacuate embassy staff from the Arab nation. You Many officials say they've taken all precautions to ensure the security of foreign missions there, but the State Department said earlier today that it did it had ordered the departure of non essential government personnel due to the continued potential for terrorist attacks.
