dear son, I've never been one to say much words have never been my strength and even holding you as a baby in my arms. I remember the words escaping me for how I felt about you. So I will do my best and write this down and hope that it will give you comfort and guidance in your life, as it has for me in mine enclosed in this small metal box you will find an acorn. Now listen to me. This acorn is but a symbol somewhere under the litter of leaves in the woods, in the angle of a fallen log or in the tilled soil of a garden, an acorn is dreaming of becoming an oak tree. A mighty oak is a symbol of strength and endurance, but it doesn't start off that way. It starts as a small seed, an acorn with all the potential in the world to be something great, son, you to have the potential to become something great. But just like this acorn, it requires much more than chance or happenstance. Plant this seed deep within your heart and let the light of this world grow it. You may not understand all of this until you are older. But I want to share with you the lessons I've learned through my life's experiences, my triumphs and my failures. The rewards of hard work are always greater than the easy path. Exercise patients, just like a seed, takes time to grow and develop. You, too, will require time to grow be known not just for what you do, but also for the person who you are. People matter most more than any material. More than any undertaking, it's the people who make your path worth something awakened every day with the intent to be your very best. And when you lay your head down at the end of the day, find satisfaction in knowing you gave it your all be courageous and fight for those who can't fight for themselves. Be an example for those around. Always be a person of your follow through with your promises. Being reliable is a currency rarely found in this life. It is worth more than any silver gold. Do the right thing even when no one is looking. Even when you retired, look deep inside. Find the energy to keep going. Take these lessons to heart You will grow, man. I know you're meant to be. You're far more than I could ever dream. You're strong yet you are a leader, an innovative. You're selfless. For that you are respected. You make a difference in the lives of others. And I am proud of who you have become. The ones who will be remembered in this life are the individuals who gave of themselves to better the world around them. I know you will be amongst them. Always know that I am there with you in the shade of that great oak tree so proud of who you have become and that you have still yet to be.
