bass drum hoops are 10 ply birch round edge hoops that are also constructed using the Yamaha Air Seal system. This helps to deliver the strength necessary for maintaining consistent uniform tuning. Yamaha incorporates the same manufacturing and finishing techniques on the hoops as on the drum shells. In fact, we make an oversized drum shell or can then cut it into smaller two inch wide sections.
