Description This is an example of the Tuvan throat singing style known as sygyt. Sygyt is a style of khoomei, which is a type of overtone singing or polytonal singing. The demo begins with a spoken intro about throat singing and ends with the song "Amazing Grace." As you probably already know, our voices are made of many different frequencies that all blend together. Overtone singing isolates and amplifies some of the highest pitched frequencies, so it sounds like I am singing two notes at once. You will hear a single long low pitch, and a high whistling pitch that carries the melody.
