Thanks. Week 88 1 k THX local artist Spotlight shines on Brian and Lola and their new self titled album I Wonder if You're Under This'll. New album from husband and wife duo Brian and Lola is a multi, very patchwork of jazz, folk, classical and Latin melodies, tied together with lush vocal harmonies that will tug at your heartstrings. Multi instrumentalists and vocalists Brian Tobin shed some light on their recording in song writing process. We write a lot of the songs together, but on this album in particular is very dynamic. You know, you can definitely tell which ones are songs that I primarily wrote and which ones are songs that Lowly primarily wrote. And we like that about the record. Love Sunday's Down Every Brian's Band Matan wife Lola Tobin co writes, sings and plays piano on the new album. But there was a time when her musical style was much louder and faster. I started out in music with a metal drummer and me doing piano parts and singing, and it was very theatrical and we would open for metal bands at the creepy crawl in food bar, and then I went to college and I studied jazz, and that totally changed the way I wrote songs, and I looked at music that kind of slowly formed into a jazz folk mixed, which is what we got on the album. Theo Theo. Some of the songs featured on Brian Lola's new album are about being in love. But for one song in particular, it wasn't always clear that this love was about Brian and Lola's relationship. On the last song on the album What I Waited For, we wrote that song five years ago, before we were even dating. It's really funny looking back because it's kind of like we were writing the song about our relationship. It hadn't even happened yet. We didn't realize it at the time. We were just writing about two people. But now I see it was us. If you'd like more information about Brian and Lola, you can check out their website at Brian and lola dot com.
