empathy is a term that's tossed around so much these days, when someone doesn't seem to get our point or fails to meet our expectations, we immediately say that person lacks empathy. We arrive at the conclusion that the other person isn't empathetic enough. But then again, what do we really know about having empathy? What do we understand by being empathetic? And how do we deal with those who are less sympathetic than us? Overused but often misunderstood? The term empathy needs to be clarified today. We need to understand better what having empathy means and how being empathetic can benefit us all.
