hello and welcome to another episode of harmless criminals where we discuss true crimes committed by real people. I'm your host, Stephen. Marry it. In 1978 2 brothers walked into a Woodwards department store in Kamloops, British Columbia. They quietly proves some clothes and shoes before carrying on to the sporting goods department. After examining some canoes, they picked one up, put it over their heads and walked right out of the store. By the time anyone had realised it was happening, they had already strapped to the roof of their vehicle and driven away. Now most people would consider that a successful heist. They didn't get caught, and more importantly, nobody got hurt. Two hours later, thieves returned to the same Woodwards department store and tried to walk out with two paddles. This time, however, they were quickly apprehended and forced to pay for the paddles as well as their new canoe.
