If the current craft beer revolution has a defined starting point, you might say August 2nd, 1965 was that moment. On that date, Fritz Maytag, heir to the Maytag washing machine company, bought a stake in Anchor Brewing Company. By the winter of 1944 Nazi Germany's situation was grim. Soviet forces were coming ever closer to the fatherland from the East and in the West, Allied forces had crossed the German border.
