You'll upgrade it and you will fill it with prestige and power. Isn't that what we all want to do with our lives? The purpose of life is to live life for a purpose. We as music educators have the opportunity to generate enthusiasm countless times each and every day, bemoaning the fact that we have had 10% cut from our budgets or the scheduled concert is in conflict with an athletic event or the music store didn't deliver the repaired bass clarinet or whatever is certainly important to the success of the program. But it is inconsequential compared to the fundamental charge of our profession, our art, our reason to be to up lift every child we touch to a new level of appreciation and understanding about music. Now that is a challenge that deserves to be met with a positive enthusiasm. It's time to enthusiastically strike up the band
