Why do we argue? Why do we make trouble where we obnoxious and disagreeable? Why not just go along and not make waves? Because we are constantly faced with decisions In order to make good decisions, we have to consider the issues and the relevant arguments in positions. It is necessary to decide what issues are the most important. What topics are the most vital arguing provides the opportunity to explore and probe the claims and positions offered in arguing we have a chance to examine exactly what the position rest upon. The territorial limit should be extended to 200 miles offshore. Why what rights are involved? Who will suffer and who will gain? Are there alternatives to the move? What problem forced this solution? What will happen if it is not extended in arguing, we may not disagree with the position. In order to attack it, we need Onley toe, want to test or to explore it. One major reason for arguing, then is to learn to explore, to probe into tests in order to examine a belief. Very often when we engage in arguments, we already have a conviction but argue to persuade others. Sometimes we are being persuaded. At other times we are doing the persuading. This aspect of argument is always around us. When the daily newspaper editorial supports compulsory seat belt legislation and offers arguments, the aim is to convince us the readers. The same holds true for all arguments and positions presented on the television and the radio. In these situations, we do not have the opportunity to reply the argument of stated, and there it is. We can take it or leave it. We are presented with very polished and convincing arguments, but cannot ourselves object. Other forms of argument designed to persuade us are the advertising messages that reaches by way of commercials, posters, jingles and so on. The reasons presented for trying a product can be good, such as efficiency or low costs or poor, such as prestige or an irrelevant endorsement. The air is in reasoning. One finds an advertising are the same elsewhere. When Polly politicians says unemployment may be reduced by as much as 22% in the next six months, she relies on the same hedge words as an advertisement saying Shine toothpaste may reduce cavities by as much as 36%. Both used the expression as much indicating Onley an outside possibility, and both used the word may instead of wheel. Few three dimensional objects can impact society as much as a fashion doll. Fashion dolls have totaled Tele for centuries of what styles each generation dear to consider high fashion. In the mid fifties, the Children in the post World War two parents were growing up. Since their parents had bean preoccupied with the Great Depression and a global conflict, it was doubtful that they knew what it was like to be a teenager free from the stress of survival. Who was going to show these newfound teenagers the way what idols would exist for them to emulate? Mattel toys in the early 19 fifties was a small but growing business. With Ruth and Elliot Handler at the helm, the stage was set for exciting new things to happen. The handlers darter Barbara, had an intense interest and paper dolls on a trip to Europe. Roofs interest in a German doll named Lilly was sparked. This Dow was a bit risque but still had a certain innocent quality about her. Missing, however, was the concept of additional accessorized fashions as the Dow was really a novelty idol. The handlers fell in love with this idea of creating a fashion doll with accessories. In upon their return to the United States, began formulating plans to make the Barbie doll name for their daughter, a reality designer. Charlotte Johnson was hired to begin work on the most tasteful board roles for the Barbie dough. The doll and her clothing was to be manufactured in Japan under the highest quality control. The first dials, now so highly prized, did not look like what Barbie would eventually become. After some refinements, as well as resistance on the part of the toy buyers, the Dow became a hit. We're really matter with little girls everywhere. After four changes in just two years, the Barbie doll finally looked like the girl next door. At first, the idea was that the Barbie doll would have no identity except that which the little owner would bestow upon her. The first televised commercial sang of Someday I'm going to be exactly like you. Till then, I'll make believe that I am you little girls loved the Barbie doll and immediately wanted to know more about her. So in the doubt, took on the identity of many of the movie star in television teenagers of the day and became her own persona. Girls were enthralled. Here was a perfect teenager to whom they could look up to and admire. So Barbie Doll had a boyfriend, Qin, and a best friend, Mitch. A fan club was started on a national level, and Children were encouraged to start their own local chapters. It was the beginning of the Barbie doll era, and it is still going strong.
