This'll rise in urban living comes with greater population density, public transportation stretched to its limits and an increase in car ownership and congestion. Americans already spend 6.9 billion hours twiddling their thumbs in traffic each year. That's about 42 hours per commuter, which is sent to rise to 47 hours by 2020. It's expensive to all of this. Gridlock costs Americans more than $160 billion in extra fuel and lost time. BSF is discovering new ways to tackle the traffic.
