imagine a world without methanol. Many everyday products may not exist at all. Paints, plastic bottles, fibers for clothes and furniture, building materials. They are all made with methanol. The fastest growing markets for methanol are in the energy sector, which today represents about 1/3 of methanol demand. Methanex Corporation is the world's largest supplier of methanol to major international markets, with manufacturing, marketing and supply chain capabilities across North America, Latin America, Europe, the Caribbean, Middle East and throughout the Asia Pacific region. Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, Methanex employs approximately 1000 people worldwide. In July of 2012 Methanex announced it was relocating a one million ton methanol plant from Chile. Two guys were Louisiana, just 30 minutes south of Baton Rouge. This will be Methanex is first US methanol production facility in more than a decade, and a location is exceptional. Louisiana has a world clients, infrastructure, skilled workers and a very positive environment for doing business. The U. S. Gulf Coast is the key methanol market in North America and growing again with the reemergence of new methanol derivative manufacturing demand. Methanex has a long term leadership position in this market and will enhance this position with guys for methanol plant our guys were. Plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2014.
