Holly star. Welcome to the courage cast. Thank you for having me. Yeah. So this is Ah, you're You're a West Coast lady, aren't you? I am through and through from Washington State. Tell me a little bit about where you grew up and what that was like for you. I hear Onion Farm. Yes, that's right. Yeah. My dad. Ah, grow sweet corn and onions in central Washington. He still does? Yep. Still does. He and my grandpa and my brother. So it's ah, family *** going on up there, but yes, I grew up in a small town is about 6000 people there, Um, and got married about two years ago, Enjoying that season now as well. Um, but yeah, I grew up in small town, started being part of my worship team Church. One thing led to another and through MySpace, recorded my first album, My space. So that's a long time ago. Yes, that was about the time. So we're sitting here. This is the first time I've had multiple people in the studio with me. You're probably the third interview since we built this studio. So in in studio. So we've got Keith, whose my former boss and your manager. My manager? That's right. Yeah. Um and then who else do we have in my husband, Chris, huh? And my drummer slash guitarist Nicole. So And my PR rep, Brian, Brian is a good friend. We go way back as so so marriage, Um, has been a new thing for you. So you started out my space. I The reason it made me want to introduce these guys because my space was, like, really big when I worked for Keith, right? And with Keith that word entertainment. And, um So what was that like? So you actually did you get discovered on MySpace or what? There is Ah, a producer artist, Brandon be out of Washington State. He heard my music that had posted from our youth band on there and was like, Hey, you wanna work on a project together? I like what you're doing. So that was the beginning. And then he actually introduced me to Keith into some Nashville people in, huh? So that was kind of like how I got my foot in the door. So how would you describe your style then? Versus now? In terms of music? Um lyrics. Well, I was really young. I was like, 17 years old. See, it was 2008 when I released it, so yeah, I was 17. Um, so song writing. I just didn't know much about former anything at the time. So I've grown a lot as a songwriter, but also, stylistically, it was It became more. It was like pop rock then got more into Prop Brock. The next album, the next album was a little less rock A little more pop than my previous one to my newest one. Now was a little more, um, like, worship palm. And now my newest one is Pop Pop it straight up, Straight up, Straight up. Yeah, because you're jumping up and down here in this picture. I love it. I love it. So new album human. Andi, I want I want to get into that. Um, but eso tell me a little bit about your journey in terms of just what you sing about. Because when you sing Christian music primarily, you're either certain expectations put on you. Did you ever, um, like, in the beginning? Ah, I know a lot of Christian artists sometimes, you know, their parents are heavily involved. Where your parents very involved in that and that influence your you're writing. Well, my parents were really supportive, so they helped me pursue it. I mean, they were They were never there saying Don't write this or write this or anything like that. They're not artists. They're not musicians. So they were more like, Oh, we see the skill that you have, and we want to do anything we can to encourage that. So they came behind me and my first project, and we're like, Hey, let's do this together. So my family was actually really involved. But more from a business standpoint, at first, just fully supported, Never critical or no, not the only my mom Is mawr even more business minded than I am? And so she's more like Okay, how can How can I help you do this better? And I'm an artist, So sometimes I'm, like, adult. I just want to, right? Yeah. So that was a struggle for a little while there, but it is a work down over over the end of time or whatever. Over time, you leave that up to Keith and Brian. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm getting better at learning how to manage artistry in business. But it's it's hard. Yeah, it's are especially Christian artistry, I think, because you're mixing business with ministry, right? And that's hard. Do you find that hard, Teoh Distinguish between the two, I mean.
