imagine you were President Trump, and you wanted to be sure that someone would have your back in a constitutional crisis. What would you do? You'd start by nominating someone like Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Brett Kavanaugh is on Trump short list of Supreme Court nominees. Cavanaugh is on Trump's list because he believes the president should be above the law. He thinks the president should have absolute discretion, whether and when he could be independently investigated and that the president should be able to set the limits for any investigation. He even thinks a sitting president should never be able to be criminally indicted. Now, why would Donald Trump what a judge like that on the Supreme Court? Donald Trump will do anything, even break the law toe. Hold on to power. America deserves a Supreme Court that won't let him get away with it.
