A city where all students have an expansive, affirming education that prepares them to thrive to and through college and become activated next generation leaders. What would our city look like at Teach for America? LOS Angeles We're striving to create a just education system that will unleash the potential of all our cities Children as the largest public school system in California and the second largest in the United States. We see the educational gap as it exists today and the chasm it threatens to become in the future and without changing the opportunities for our students. How will we know the opportunities we are missing out on the need for change is clear. But what about the opportunity? Over the past 25 years, teach for America Corps members and alumni have driven change in public education with more examples than ever before of schools expanding opportunities for low income students. Now 2700 strong. We must leverage our scale and diversity to evolve from individual leadership to collective impact, and we've set our sights on 2020 to realize this change. Here's how we're going to do it. Grow our talent pipeline to bring more high quality and diverse futures to Los Angeles. Equip our first and second year teachers to catalyze their impact with students through our training and support. Connect alumni with opportunities to collaborate, innovates and thrive as the community of education and civic leaders we need. Our educators, alumni, partners and supporters are on the front lines of change, and we see challenges as an invitation to rise above our cities. Educational inequities.
