Mara Mara is a remote village in eastern Chad Onley, several kilometres from Sudan's border and the precarious Darfur region. Here. In this barren desert environment, there are no roads and many communities remain largely cut off from the outside world. Contaminated water was making Children and family sick. Many Villagers suffered from life threatening diseases, crippling their ability to work or grow food. Families were in desperate need of lifesaving intervention. World concern listened to community leaders and residents and help them develop a plan to meet their critical needs. The first project was a clean water well in the village knew life was beginning in Mara Mara and it started with water. Since world concern began working with the community of Mara Mara, this once impoverished village has experienced a dramatic transformation.
