September 1st 1939. Nazi Germany, led by Adolf Hitler, invaded Poland. World War two, the deadliest conflict in history. The entire world was blanketed in darkness for over 5.5 years. It took a global effort to defeat the Axis powers to stop the genocide, to bring peace from the deserts of North Africa to the islands of the Pacific. Valiant soldiers, sailors and airmen fought and dark. 80 years ago today, the world was forever changed.
