introduction. Every day he went to work at Pixar Animation Studios. Catmull was struck by the unique culture that defined it. The building, designed by Steve Jobs, sat on a large campus overlooking the San Francisco Bay Bridge. It's unifying idea was community with lots of common areas and open spaces. Staff members decorated their work areas. However, they wished often and fun and eccentric ways. Pixar valued self expression, however. What made the company special is that they acknowledge they would always have problems, and they worked hard at resolving them. Pixar's Toy Story, the first computer animated film, debuted on November 22nd 1995. It was an instant success. It took them five years and many fights to do it their way, and it paid off financially. It was also a success. But what Cat Meow found most satisfying was the product they had created. Catmull had wanted to be a Disney animator since he was a kid.
