This is the world. This is a church. So is this and this and these every day. God uses the global church to redeem people in every part of the world, even in places where we tend to think it's impossible. We get to see it happen every day, and we want to tell you about it. We are Mission one. We partner with 14 global organizations serving in communities in over 30 countries throughout Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Local churches already know what's needed in their own communities because they live there. Local pastors reach their own cultures because, well, they are the culture. One of those seemingly impossible places is the because Valley in Lebanon Valley is home to over 350,000 Syrian refugees. But it's some and his team are on the ground, teaching people about Jesus and helping with their food and shelter needs. Assam has made many friends who were prime candidates to join the ranks of local extremist groups. We can't show you their real pictures because, of course we can't. These people noticed that Assam was helping both Christians and Muslims. Some was happy to tell them why and they decided they wanted to follow Jesus and help us well. But there people still lived in tents and tarps that flood and collapse frequently through a connection with an engineer. Assam has brought a new kind of semi permanent housing to the because valley. The houses look like tents, but they have a concrete floor and electricity. They resist flooding and could be made into homes rather than just shelters. Using local labor, Issam is helping to build lasting community where before there were simply refugees. All the while, he's using specially designed teaching from Mission one to reach the local Muslim population with the story of Jesus in a way that brings out the best in their own culture. Mission one has been with the some every step of the way we helped fund housing construction. We translate and print materials for the spread of the gospel in the valley, dozens of refugees and because I have found hope in Jesus Christ and they live at peace with their Muslim neighbors, what could have been a place of despair is becoming a place of hope because the gospel is working and God's kingdom is growing in the Bekaa Valley. We get to see this kind of thing all the time. Seemingly hopeless mission fields transformed by local visionaries who can see the unique opportunities God has provided in their communities. Their neighbors might need employment, training, networking relief or something we could never even predict. Mission One provides what's missing through creative solutions, and then we watch God work. I want to see more or know how you can be a part.
