When Grace Hopper tried to join the Navy during World War Two, they rejected her, saying she was too old, so she joined the Navy reserves instead. Five decades later, after making countless breakthroughs in computing and military technology, the Navy finally recognized its mistake. And so 1996 when they launched a new missile destroyer, they named it the USS Hopper. Not bad for a Navy reject.
