Welcome dental professionals and thank you for joining protect your sweet smile, a continuing education presentation on sugar sweetened beverages and oral health. Today we will learn about how oral health professionals can utilize existing public health messages and resources to advise clients on limiting sugar sweetened beverages. First, we will review the rethink your drink campaign and how its core message can be leveraged by oral health professionals and how to apply that messaging in your office. We will also review how to utilize available resources to limit sugar intake and sugar sweetened beverage consumption. Lastly, we will discuss how to use communication strategies, including motivational interviewing techniques to help guide clients toward new behaviors. It is our goal to provide a brief overview of nutritional information and resources to assist your conversations with clients.
