15 years ago in the small east African country of Rwanda, one million ordinary men, women and Children were murdered by their own government. The only reason they were killed was because they were Tutsi. One of the darkest times in our world's history affected millions of people in Africa and around the world. For Martin Millions, E. R. Rwandan guide and translator, he remembers the genocide like it was yesterday. In 1967 the United States and Canada form the North American Air Defense Command, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and North Bay, Ontario. Its mission is to protect North America from the threat of long range Soviet strategic bombers armed with nuclear weapons here. Beginning in 1979 Oryx were bred and released into the Arabian Oryx Sanctuary, a vast, unfenced area the size of Massachusetts or Belgium. By 1996 2 years after being named a World Heritage site by UNESCO, the sanctuary was home to more than 450 free roaming oryx, and the project success was acclaimed worldwide.
