modeling generosity is what the Thorntons do. For years, they had planned on auctioning their farm equipment at retirement, and on a cold December day, hundreds gathered to bid on well maintained machinery. Through consultation with the Church of the Nazarene Foundation, the Thorntons had a plan to continue their legacy. As the snow flurries swirled around the farm equipment and the auctioneers rapid fire cadence called across the crowd of over 400 gathered on the thorns farm, God was blessing their faithfulness. The machinery and equipment parked in orderly rows represented a lifetime of work for Merrill and Dini Thornton. They invested their lives in the farm for over 50 years, diligently caring for the land and the machinery that provided their livelihood. The land sustained not only the Thorntons but enabled them to give to ministries the Holy Spirit late on their hearts.
