Bristol has a population of over 400,000 almost half of whom live in areas which violate healthy air standards. The traffic here accounts for 90% of the pollution in Bristol. Like all major cities in the UK, Bristol has a huge number of cars on its roads and the numbers are growing. Did you know that current UK traffic amounts to 321 billion kilometres every year? On this, congestion is set to increase 65% by 2010. So what's being done about it? One idea for improvement was the reintroduction of bus conductors. But what would bestow aliens think about this? I took a petition around Bristol to find out from the haves to the have nots and across 16 post codes I collected over. There are ways we can all help reduce our traffic.
