Job Description

This is for a spec episode only. Personal Test Project.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
Austin the Astronaut is a series of 22 minute episodes about Austin, a 7 year old boy who travels the solar system with his dog Buddy and his faithful robot companion Circuit, exploring the stars and beyond to learn more about the universe. Kids will learn all about stellar phenomena, planets, the sun and facts about our own solar system. The show will combine fact with fiction as Austin encounters alien creatures, mysterious occurrences and strange new worlds.

AUDIENCE
The show is for pre-school age, teaching younger children and toddlers through interaction and participation.

ARTISTIC DIRECTION
The episodes will be fully 3D computer generated. The show's themes and subjects are communicated clearly to children through visual representation, interaction and eventually music.

CHARACTER BIO
The role of Circuit requires a robotic, automated voice with a lot of personality. Built by Austin, circuit was designed to share Austin's love of space. He accompanies Austin on his journeys to space but is often unwilling to try new experiences through fear of the unknown.
Circuit is very knowledgeable about the universe all things stellar. He has a display screen in his belly which shows the viewer how certain stellar phenomena work and recounts famous events and space milestones in human history. He can detect objects and place with his radar, provide Austin with a wide range of tools and equipment to help with his missions and is the main way Austin communicates with Amy back at mission control (AKA, his lab beneath his bedroom).

SPECIAL REQUESTS
Think an American C3PO, kind and soft spoken but nervous/cautious about everything
