Job Description

We are looking for a smooth forty-something news type announcer. This is a hard driving foundation addressing health issues. There are probably two plus pages of copy, approximately 3 minutes in length. We would like to have some of the copy read as demo. The following is for the first of four sections.

Script:
In March of 2000 The Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts called for applications to address an ambitious charge: to improve the health of Central Massachusetts.

With assets today of roughly 60 million dollars, the Foundation was funded by the sale of Central Massachusetts Health Care. The foundation’s Board has concentrated on a few health issues granting a total of nearly $10 milllion dollars.

Through the Foundation’s – Health Care and Health Promotion Synergy Initiative, seven and a half million dollars —have funded four multi-year, collaborative projects.

The Synergy Initiative provides planning, pilot and implementation grants. Each collaborative project implements public health and medical access strategies and secures changes in public policy.

The Foundation’s Synergy Initiative enables collaboratives to address a health issue by providing planning, pilot and implementation grants over a multi-year period. Projects design and implement “best practice” public health and medical access strategies, intended to lead to public policy changes incorporating these programs.

Special tax status allows THF to lobby for policy change in addition to funding programs. The Board recognized that the foundation’s capacity to lobby was as important as its financial resources.

The Board commissioned an evaluation of the Foundation’s performance.
