Job Description

Reagent Press/RP Audio is a member of the Audio Publisher's Association and we launched our first titles in 2005.

At this time, we are seeking new voice talent for a dramatic reading of a 60,000-word fantasy novel for teens and adults. In your reply, please include a detailed rate quote. The book in audio form would need to be edited and professionally polished by you prior to submitting to us. We require the audio to be recorded in high quality stereo (minimum 44.1 Khz 16-bit stereo AIFF). We believe the finished reading would run approximately 7 hours.

We will review every submission, one or more times, and choose what we feel is the best talent for the job.

Thank you,

Thomas Green

Sample #1.

Kaleb stepped between the king and the master crafter. “Your victory will be the talk of all, Your Grace. Our people will know you led our victory and that the Scarabaeid brought down the gates of S’amore. What’s more, the Elvish have proven worthy adversaries. Long has it been since I’ve had such a good fight.”

Nalor clasped Kaleb’s shoulder in a show of respect. “My father was wrong to keep you as his third. You deserved to be his second.”

“I am your second,” Kaleb said. “That is what he knew I would be.”

Nalor looked to the Praefect. “Indeed,” he said. He turned his attention to the Alvs who filled the square. “Who among you speaks for you?” he asked in the language of the Elvish.

Kaleb stepped forward when no one spoke and pointed to the Elvish woman with the baby. Nalor gave sign of agreement.

Kaleb plucked them from the crowd, holding the woman with her baby in the palm of his hand. “Who among you speaks for you?” he repeated.

“I will speak,” the Elvish woman said. “I am Queen Athania of Dubar.”

“Speak truth,” Kaleb said impatiently in the language of the Nirar people. “My king has shown great restraint and given great respect.”

“I speak truth,” Queen Athania replied in the Nirar language, her expression and manner betraying no hint of fear for herself, only fear for her child.

“Your king,” Kaleb said impatiently. “Where is he?”

“Do you seek the king of kings or my king?” the queen asked.

Kaleb felt closed in as Nalor and the Praefect pressed forward. “We seek your husband, King of Dubar.”

“You seek one who will not be found.”

We wanted to let everyone know how much we appreciate those who voiced the sample script. We've listened to every sample at least once and some twice and will continue to review and listen as we work toward selecting voices.
