Job Description

WE ARE OPEN TO BOTH NORTH AMERICAN & BRITISH ACTORS.

I need some people that would want to use of their voice talents for an audio production we are putting on CD of "THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ" based upon L. Frank Baum, Oz book I have posted about this before, but in still need of just a few other people and once confirmed we will continue to get to work and finish up on everything.

We will have a music bed that runs under your voicing and also sound effects. All I need to do is sync the voice over up with the sound effects and music.

This is to increase the awareness of the 70th aniv of the Wizard of Oz film, this year of 2009.

I need to hire people who can be and sound like the following types of voices.

We are in need of casting the following parts:

Please note that the below sample could change when it comes to the final script being use.

If you are wanting to send in your sample (please quote one of the parts below, to the one you are interested in)

Large Roles In the Production

The Tin-Woodman

(Please sound like the tin-man from the 1939 movie, "THE WIZARD OF OZ")

"Oh my, I had been standing here and waiting here it seems like for ages. I have been here rusting for the longest time, and now, finally I am found, by you Dorothy! It is so good to be able to walk, to move, and of course move away from the grass...it's been far to long. Do you know perhaps if the Wonderful Wizard of Oz could help me? I am in great need of a heart, for oh so very long, and would love follow along with you both on your journey down the yellow brick road to see the great Wizard of Oz!

The Wicked Witch of the West

- Am interested in someone sounding close or almost exactly like Margaret Hamilton (the witch from the 1939 M-G-M movie, "THE WIZARD OF OZ" --

Ah ah...now I've got Dorothy and within the next few minutes her little dog Toto will be mine! All mine! (Laugh in the witch's voice) I can't wait to get those silver shoes, they are so wonderful, so shiny and best of all once they are in my hands, all Oz will soon be mine! I will take over the country and the Wizard will be finally destroyed! (Laugh again in the witch's voice).

The Good Witch of the North

(greets Dorothy, as she comes to Munhkinland and helps her as she goes on her journey on the way to Oz) -Sound like Glenda from the 1939 Wizard of Oz film- "Billie Burke's voice"

--YOU ARE TALKING TO THE WITCH--

""Oh my goodness, you honestly have no power here while you are in Muchkinland, so you might as well go away quickly right back where you came from, before you EVEN think about doing any harm to our young Dorothy Gale. She may have the silver shoes, now but they will never, ever come off her feet while they are in her possession. No go....and be off with you at once! If you do not leave, soon someone from our country in the Land of Oz will be after you!"

Smaller and Med Roles in the Production

The Guardian of the Gate (A young man sounding again like solider but this guy will sound a bit more younger then middle aged and older then 30 if possible. unless your voice is a bit older sounding)

"Here are the strangers...and they demand to see the great and powerful "Wonderful Wizard of Oz" at once!"

The Solider
One of the people in the land of Oz who helps ushers Dorothy and her friends in to the Wizard) (A young man or older man (18 + and or 30 - to early 40s) would be just fine. Someone who sounds like they are in authority. He will be possibly used later on in the story as a guard.

--Speaking to Dorothy and her friends before they see the Wizard of Oz--

"Oh no, I have never, ever seen him before! I have spoken to him as he sat behind his screen. He says he would be able to see you, if you desire. But however, EACH of you must enter his presence alone. Only one will be able to be admitted for several days into the palace. I will now show you to your rooms, were you will stay as you have come a long way during your journey to the emerald city, again Welcome, welcome to the emerald city here in Oz, and the home of our great and powerful, "Wonderful Wizard of Oz"!

Leader Of the Winged Monkey
and we need this person to possibly play an evil winged monkey

Here are two parts:

Leader of the Winged Money
"Once, we were a free people, living happily in the great forest, and flying from tree to tree. Perhaps some of us were rather too full of mischief at times and flying down to pull the tails of the animals that had no wings. We were careless and happy and full of fun, and enjoyed every minute of the day. This was many years ago long, before Oz came out of the clouds to rule over this land."

Evil Winged Monkey

Evil Winged Monkey--Someone who can make monkey sounds from time to time while talking.

"WELL, WELL, DOROTHY, YOU'VE FINALLY ARRIVE HERE IN THE WITCH'S FOREST! (laugh, in a evil tone) IT IS MY DUTY TO NOW, TAKE YOU TO THE CASTLE AND THE WITCH WISHES TO SEE YOU AND YOUR LITTLE DOG TOTO! (laugh, in a evil tone) DON'T BE FRIGHTED DEAR GIRL ALL SHE WANTS IS YOUR WONDERFUL SILVER SHOES!"

The Wizard of Oz

We also have a few small roles, as well as the 4 main characters in the story enter the emerald city and meet Oz. They are greeted and spoken to separately by 4 different characters (that are to be "THE WIZARD OF OZ"). Those of you that know the original “WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ” book by L. Frank Baum will know what I am talking about.

1. Giant Head
2. Lovely Lady
3. The Beast
4. Ball of Fire

Thank you for your interest and greatly,
looking hearing from you.

We are seeking both young adult and also
middle aged people that have an interest.

Our response deadline is July 10th...however we would like to cast the parts much sooner then that. So I thank you for your help regarding this matter.

SPECIAL REQUEST

Our budget range is $100---but we are start out for the 1st time with a project like this...and honestly don't have a lot of money to invest in this. If you HAVE to be paid OR NEED to be paid for your work, we may possibly be able to work something out. But do please note
most of the people involved already in this production are donating of their time and working for free. Everyone involved will receive their own copy on CD of the production.

PLEASE NOTE:

We already have a narrator that is cast,
our Dorothy, Scarecrow, and the Lion, and also Aunt Em, and Uncle Henry already cast and we will NOT BE TAKING ANY auditions whatsoever for these parts.

The script is still being working on and will be finished soon. once you agree to be involved and when it is done, we will send you the script.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
Aaron Pacentine, VideosForFamily.com
