Job Description

My name is Chris, and I'm the President of a small Chicago-based book publisher.

We'd like to create a 30-second radio ad for a novel we are releasing this Fall. What we need is for you to provide the voice and make the ad. We will provide the complete text to read, and the ad will just be you reading (i.e. no music).

The novel is a personal narrative that details the experiences of a self-conscious young man, growing up in a small conservative town. The character is negotiating normal changes experienced during adolescence against the backdrop of a socially repressive atmosphere.

To the extent you can include sample audio of you saying one of the following phrases, that would be helpful for us:

If you are a female:
"Most people were too serious."

If you are a male:
"One time I told Emily..."

The speaker of both is an adolescent, but it's not important that you try to sound like an adolescent. Your role will be as an independent voice quoting the book, and it's not necessary that you emulate the character.

Questions are welcome, let me know any more info that would be useful.

Thanks -
