Job Description

We need a VO for a 30 second internet ad for the New York Times. The spot is for their Times Reader product -- a subscription-based, stand-alone application that allows readers of the Times to read the print version of the paper on their computers. It is cleaner and less cluttered than reading the same content on their website.

The spot is graphics-only, has a rock music bed and a male VO scratch track. I can provide a link for the talent to review if they want to see it. It will run on the internet only for up to 12 months. There may be at a future date a 15 second cut down of the 30. The Times would like to buy out the talent so they can use spot on any website over the run. Currently they are intending to use it as preroll on and other similar streaming content sites.

The audience is American, intelligent, well-read and discerning, and the VO should be as well. That said, the Times wants to position this product as a "next-generation" news reader, and they want a young or youthful male voice, one that sounds approachable and not like a standard TV announcer. Our voice should not sound like that of a nightly news reporter's.
