Job Description

We are looking for either M or F voice to convert a historic book into an iPhone app. Story takes place in California during early 1900's. Involves 4 college age students from back east going to California for an adventure. We expect to include some music and sound effects into the production. We want someone with an animated, family friendly, and a comfortable style. We want the audio to sound as if you are right there with the boys as they travel around California. The target listeners are families touring California in their car who own a Smart Phones / iTouch and who want a unique experience. Given the book was written in the early 1900’s there are some brief (5 – 7 pages) racial stereotypes similar to views from the period.

The book has 32 chapters and is 67,100 words in length. Our rough testing was 6 hours of audio in total. We want the voice artist to submit files by chapter.

Given the title's sales are very speculative in nature (iPhone and Andriod App Stores) we are very limited in the payment we can provide. However, the Artist will receive credit for their work including name, head shot, and a short bio within the iPhone app. We expect to promote the title/app via press releases and other avenues. We have other titles/apps in various stages of development and may decide to the use the artist for future work.

Sample scene is provided for auditions.

Note from Voices.com: It is recommended that you protect all your audition work by watermarking the submission or only recording a portion of the script provided by the client. This will render your audition file useless for anything other than reviewing your voice. Not sure what watermarking is? Please visit our FAQ section for more information.
