Job Description

Hi,

I posted this yesterday and got a lot of responses but most people did it way too slowly and only provided like a 15 second audition.

I need at least 30-40 seconds to evaluate this and send samples to the client so I'm going to re-post. You should be able to download the full script but I think many of you are just looking at the sample snippet/preview.

Note: the goal is a Sam-Elliot style voice but I think most of you are so wrapped up in trying to mimic Elliot that there's losing any emotion and pacing in the voice over.

The situation is a an older (50-60 years old) barber, talking to a young guy about the way things were "back in the day" when he way starting out and opened up his shop (presumably like 10-15 years before). He's kind of lecturing the young man, talking up how hard things were back then (which is really now) and how lucky the young guy is these days to have a great app that makes things for a self-employed person much easier.

There needs to be feeling and emotion in this read. The animated character will appear on screen, in a cartoon conversation with his client. Needs to feels like he's conversing with this guy in his barber chair and shouldn't be so slow and "sleepy."

I've posted the full script with the scene descriptions here, which I hope helps guide you more.

Thanks,

Stephen
