Script:

Leishmaniasis (LEESH-MUH-NYE-EH-SISS) presents with one to two hundred lesions that often self-heal within months to years. Leishmaniasis leaves scars that may be disfiguring. Cutaneous leishmaniasis is probably the worst for visual presentation.

If the life cycle of the sand fly is examined closely, and science is added to the equation, the result of the situation is as follows.
First, the sand fly with the leishmania parasite starts the cycle.
Then, the sand fly takes a blood meal and injects the promastigote (PRO-MASS-TEH-GOAT) forms into the skin of humans.
Next, the macrophages (MAC-KREH-FAY-JIZZ) metamorphose into a mastigote and reproduce by binary fission. They increase in number until the cell infects other phagocytic (FOG-EH-SIT-ICK) and the cycle continues until you have more and more organisms.
Finally, these organisms in the cells are ingested by the sand fly and the whole process starts again.
The incubation period is two to six months. Symptoms include fever, malaise, hepatospenomegaly (HEP-UH-TOE-SPEEN-OH-MEG-UH-LEE), pancytopenia, and hypergammaglobulinemia (HYPER-GAMMA-GLOB-UH-LEH-NEE-ME-UH). Leishmaniasis Visceral can be a very serious disease.
