Job Description

Please note I anticipate approximately 12-17 minutes of recorded dialogue in total.

What I need done:

I need a voice over recorded for my fan-made video game for the upcoming release of the Blizzard Entertainment proprietary property, StarCraft 2. This fan-made game is a not-for profit free community game series to be played by owners of the StarCraft 2 video game.

What I already have versus what the voice talent will provide:

I only need dry, noise/hiss free recordings (without radio bass fx) .mp3 format, 44,100 Khz, 16-bit mono

Other requirements that the voice talent will need to know:

This job is for a male admiral character in his mid-50s. The character is in command of a fleet assigned to annihilate an alien species. He is a dedicated, loyal soldier and his best friend is his superior, another admiral in the fleet. He and his friend have worked together on the same ships for over 25 years.

The above is the primary purpose for this job.

The secondary purpose for this job is to have the talen provide voiceovers for various 'bit' characters. Different accents, one-liners (such as a soldier on a battlefield, a PA announcer, a computer alert message, etc in accents ranging from new england, australian, southern drawl, and flat non-accent reads).

Specific expertise that I'm seeking:

I need to hire someone who can provide good characterization and make the script 'come to life'

Timeframe for delivery:

I'll need the voice-over as soon as it is feasible to be complete

Test File/Audition:

For the primary character, in no accent North American, please read the following line:

"I apologize for interrupting you, sir. We've received the encrypted message you've been waiting for. Do you want it forwarded to your quarters?"

AND:

(Pleading) "Sir, there is no one, NO ONE, who I respect more than you. But what you're doing here is suicide. We can regroup and hit these bastards again when we refit. We'll kick'em to the next galaxy. But right now, we need to withdraw."

For the 'bit' characters, her are two lines:

(Flat read; no accent; younger sounding marine)(Apathetic in tone)

"No ma'am, not really."

The second character sample line:

(Southern Drawl; yelling in frustration)

"Who the hell are these guys?!"

The third character sample:

(Security guard, throaty voice like he's smoked cigars for 500 years; yelling as enemies appear in range)

"We got companyyyy!!!!"

Note from Voices.com: It is recommended that you protect all your audition work by watermarking the submission or only recording a portion of the script provided by the client. This will render your audition file useless for anything other than reviewing your voice. Not sure what watermarking is? Please visit our FAQ section for more information.
