Job Description

Our company is seeking a voice artist to narrate the high-quality video we plan to feature on our website. The purpose of this video is to explain our product to potential customers in a way that is compelling (with interesting graphics and storytelling).

Our target market is fairly young (early twenties-early thirties) and quite intelligent. We will need the voiceover artist that suits this market. It is important that the voice not be divisive in such a way that some people may form subconscious associations with that voice. (We want to appeal to as many people as possible.) We don't want a voice that is obnoxious or gimmicky.

The best approach would be an intelligent yet likable voice that is not overly personal. For example, many NPR radio personalities fit this description.

We plan to attach a copy of some of the graphics to be used throughout the video.

Here is a portion of our 500 word 3-4 minute script that we would like to be read for the audition:

"Poker, at its most fundamental level is a game of distinct decisions in which deliberate and functional judgment is of paramount importance. As time advances and hands are played, decisions rapidly accumulate, and the combined value of these decisions comes into perspective. While a player has no control over luck or variance, every player has the unique option to be in complete control of his reasoning abilities. Every hand, every street represents a decision-opportunity for which the player is ultimately responsible. These decisions can even have enough collective impact to change the course of a poker player's future."

Note from Voices.com: It is recommended that you protect all your audition work by watermarking the submission or only recording a portion of the script provided by the client. This will render your audition file useless for anything other than reviewing your voice. Not sure what watermarking is? Please visit our FAQ section for more information.
